After installing the latest MAC operating system update 10.9.5, you are unable to type in any program (Design Manager) using Citrix. The keyboard appears to no longer work.
This latest MAC update has an issue with the keyboard focus. To fix this, you will need to switch the keyboard focus to the OSX Desktop and then back to the Citrix Viewer/Receiver.
OS X 10.9.5 introduced a change impacting keyboard operation. When it occurs you can switch to another app and back and the keyboard will strangely work again. The solution was to upgrade to Receiver for Mac 11.9 We also confirmed private fix 11.8.10.28815 also fixes the Keyboard issue for our users. The table below then so to steps 5 to install. To change the focus to the OSX desktop:
Press the CMD + TAB buttons on the keyboard at the same time.
Then, using your mouse, click on the active Citrix Viewer in the dock.
You should now be able to type again in your Citrix program (Design Manager).

Users upgrading to OSX 10.10 who want to continue to use Receiver should install the Receiver for Mac 11.9 Tech Preview.
How will existing users of Receiver 11.8.2 and XenApp and XenDesktop be impacted?
Users may experience issues with unresponsive keyboard input while using Receiver or may not be able to connect through NetScaler Gateway.
As this is a major OSX update, the full extent of possible issues user may experience with Receiver for Mac 11.8.2 is unknown.
